In view of February 4 world cancer day with theme “CLOSE THE CARE GAP” Harshamitra Super Speciality Cancer Hospital is conducting cancer awareness programs in colleges and schools throughout this February month to create cancer awareness among youth community. Since the incidence of cancer is increasing nowadays, it is necessary that the awareness on cancer should increase in the public and students are an important vehicle in the spread of right information about cancer in the society.

Dr.G.Govindaraj Vardhanan, Surgical oncologist who is a gold medalist in oncology is acting as the resource person to meet the students and educate them on cancer and motivate them to take active participation in spreading cancer awareness. This program is being carried out exclusively for the purpose of being part of a global initiative on uniting our voices against cancer. As A part of this, Dr.G.Govindaraj Vardhanan addressed the Mount Zion college students about cancer and its effects, prevention methods, proper treatments. Each participating student was given a brochure of the Pink Cross Society. This organization called Pink Cross Society was started in December 2012 by Harshamitra Hospital with the aim of creating awareness about cancer among the public. Through this organization, many young generations are creating awareness about cancer among the public.
