Great social movements in the history of mankind are the products of the powerful sentiments of an individual. This hospital has its seed from the heart of Dr.G.Govindaraj; M.B.B.S, MS, M.Ch, F.I.C.S., from the death of his father due to throat cancer. It was the seed of sorrow over the death of his father.
Keeping in mind the painful experience he had when his father was suffering with throat cancer and the lack of facilities in Trichy at that time, Dr.G.Govindaraj along with his wife Dr P Sasipriya Govindaraj wanted to establish an advanced cancer treatment centre at Trichy to deliver cancer treatment on par with international standards and at affordable cost to the people of Trichy. Thus bloomed Harshamitra cancer centre on 11.12.2010 in the central part of TamilNadu, Trichy as a small clinic and expanded as a 50 bedded hospital in Woraiyur, and now into a complete health care centre with highly sophisticated Radiation options including Brachytherapy.
