WE believe in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals to tackle the challenges of tomorrow. Recently, our institution collaborated with our hospital to organize a comprehensive cancer awareness program for our students. The event aimed to educate and empower our 88 students, led by 9 dedicated lecturers, to become active participants in the fight against cancer.
The program commenced with an insightful orientation by our hospital’s departmental charges, followed by a thought-provoking lecture on cancer awareness by Dr. Sasipriya, Rdiation Oncoloigt, Dr. Mariya, our academic Co-ordinator, skillfully co-ordinated the event, ensuring a seamless and enriching experience for all attendees.
Cancer awareness is crucial, especially for the next generation of healthcare professionals. By educating our students about cancer, we can:
1. Demystify cancer: Dispelling myths and misconceptions, our students will better understand the disease, its symptoms, and treatment options.
2. Encourage early detection: By recognizing early warning signs, our future nurses can play a vital role in diagnosing cancer at its most treatable stages.
3. Foster empathetic care: Understanding the physical and emotional toll of cancer, our students will develop compassion and empathy, essential for providing holistic care.
4. Promote preventive measures: Educated on cancer risk factors and prevention strategies, our students can guide patients in making informed lifestyle choices.
5. Inspire innovative research: By sparking interest in cancer research, we may cultivate the next generation of oncology pioneers.
We were delighted to welcome 88 students from KAPV School of Nursing, Trichy, to our hospital for an enlightening cancer awareness programme. The students, accompanied by their 9 lecturers, visited our premises to gain valuable insights into the world of oncology.
