In the fight against cancer, community support and education play a pivotal role. Harshamitra’s Pink Cross Society, operating within the Indra Ganesan Group of Institutions, stands as a beacon of hope and support for cancer patients and a proactive force in cancer prevention. This society unites students and youth, harnessing their energy and commitment to enhance cancer awareness and provide vital support to those affected by the disease.
Origins and Founders
The foundation of Harshamitra Cancer Hospital and its associated charitable trust, Rose Garden, traces back to the personal journey of Dr. G. Govindarajvardhanan. After losing his father to larynx cancer, Dr. Govindarajvardhanan, inspired by this profound loss, dedicated himself to the field of oncology. Together with his wife, who also pursued a career in radiation oncology, both being gold medalists in their respective fields, they established Harshamitra Cancer Hospital in Trichy. Their commitment extended beyond treatment to include the formation of the Dhanabackiyam Ganesan Pon Memorial Trust, affectionately known as Rose Garden, in 2008.
