A Personal Mission Turned Legacy
Back in 2010, Dr. G. Govindaraj and Dr. P. Sasipriya Govindaraj faced a heart-wrenching battle when Dr. Govindaraj’s father was diagnosed with throat cancer.T his personal experience ignited a passion in them to ensure others wouldn’t face the same struggles. And so, Harshamitra Hospital was born in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, with a mission to provide top-notch cancer care that’s both accessible and affordable.
Growing and Evolving
Starting as a modest clinic, Harshamitra didn’t take long to expand. By 2021, it had transformed into a multispecialty hospital, branching out into gynecology, orthopedics, pediatrics, emergency care, and more. With cutting-edge facilities like the Linear Accelerator (LINAC) Radiation Facility and 24-channel Brachytherapy, patients receive world-class treatment without leaving Trichy.
Community at Heart
Harshamitra isn’t just about treatments; it’s about touching lives. In August 2024, they teamed up with the Rose Garden Charitable Trust to host a grand medical camp near Nagamangalam Panchayat. Offering free consultations and screenings, they reached out to those who needed it most.
Their commitment to eduction shines through collaborations with institutions like Indira Ganesan Group of Institutions, Anbu College of Paramedical Science, Mariamman Nursing College, Periyar Maniammai Nursing College, Jammal Mohammed College, Mount Zion College and man others. By conducting cancer awareness programs, they’re empowering the youth to spread the word about early detection and prevention.
Empowering Women
October 2024 was a special month. Harshamitra organized a breast cancer awareness event for women police officers at the Tamil Nadu Police Training Centre in Trichy. Dr. Sasipriya led the session, emphasizing the importance of early detection and regular screenings. It’s all about empowering women to take charge of their health!
Leading Through Learning
Harshamitra believes in continuous learning. They hosted a live surgical workshop on composite resection as part of the “Head and Neck Symposium.” Led by Dr. Govindaraj, the session provided invaluable hands-on experience for medical professionals, showcasing advanced techniques in head and neck cancer surgeries.
