Subaveena, a 28-year-old young woman from Tiruchirappalli, has set a fine example of humanity and social responsibility by donating her hair at Harshamitra cancer and multispeciality Hospital for cancer patients who have lost theirs.
During cancer treatment, many patients undergoing chemotherapy lose their hair. This often leads to emotional distress and a loss of self-confidence. To help such patients regain their hope and morale, Subaveena cut her hair and donated it to an organization that makes wigs for cancer patients.
“Being the reason for someone’s smile is the greatest joy in life. If my hair can give hope to someone in need, that is my greatest pride,” said Subaveena.
Social welfare activists praised her act, stating that the younger generation should come forward for the betterment of society.
