As part of Pink October 2025, Harshamitra Oncology Centre, in collaboration with Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, Samayapuram,
Trichy, conducted a Breast Cancer Awareness Seminar and Exhibition on October 13, 2025.
The event aimed to educate young students, faculty members, and the general public on the importance of breast health, early detection, and regular screening. The session was led by Dr. P. Sasipriya, M.D., DMRT, Executive Director and Senior Radiation
Oncologist of Harshamitra Oncology Centre, who delivered an inspiring and informative talk on breast cancer awareness.
During her address, Dr. Sasipriya explained the steps of self-breast examination, highlighted the role of mammogram, thermogram, and sonogram in early diagnosis, and emphasized that _breast cancer, when detected early, is completely curable_. She also encouraged the young women present to be aware, confident, and proactive about their health.
The exhibition organized alongside the seminar displayed educational posters, models, and awareness materials prepared by students and Harshamitra’s health education team. These displays provided simple explanations on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, risk factors, and preventive measures.
This program is a continuation of Harshamitra’s ongoing commitment to spreading cancer awareness across schools, colleges, and communities every year during _Pink October_. Beyond these monthly campaigns, Harshamitra also conducts:
- Free screening camps in rural and urban areas.
- Survivor meets and motivational talks to support patients emotionally.
- Health counseling sessions for patients and staff through a dedicated counselor, Mrs. Sherin. Personalized diet plans by qualified dietitians to support recovery.
- Wig donation drives to help women regain confidence during chemotherapy.
Through such continuous efforts, Harshamitra Oncology Centre strives to create a society that is aware, informed, and empowered to fight cancer with knowledge and confidence.
At Harshamitra, we firmly believe that awareness is the best protection — and each awareness program brings us one step closer to saving more lives.
