Trichy, October 1 – Harshamitra Cancer & Multispeciality Hospital, Nagamangalam, kickstarted “Pink October” with a meaningful breast cancer awareness program aimed at empowering women through knowledge, early detection, and timely care.
The event was graced by Mrs. R.S. Nithya, President of RCT Butterflies and Founder–Director of Pet Galaxy & PGM Teck Innovation Pvt. Ltd, as the Chief Guest, and Mrs. R.M. Revathi, Co-founder & Director of Pet Galaxy & PGM Teck Innovation Pvt. Ltd, as the Special Guest.
A Powerful Message from Dr. P. Sasipriya
Addressing the gathering, Dr. P. Sasipriya, Managing Director of Harshamitra, emphasized the importance of early detection:
“Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among women. But the good news is – when detected at an early stage, treatment success rates go up to 90%. Women must examine themselves regularly and also seek periodic check-ups with doctors.
Today, we are introducing a special screening package at just ₹999 to make comprehensive breast health check-ups more affordable. This initiative will help women understand their health better and encourage early diagnosis. Cancer is not something to fear – if detected early, it is treatable.”
Community Participation
The event witnessed an enthusiastic response with around 100 participants, including patients, women from the community, and well-wishers. As a promising start, 23 women availed the newly introduced ₹999 screening package on the same day.
A Symbol of Hope
The program concluded with a touching “Pink Balloon Release” ceremony. The balloons soaring into the sky symbolized hope, strength, and unity in the fight against breast cancer.
