As part of World No Tobacco Day awareness initiative, conducted an insightful awareness session at SASTRA University to educate students about the dangers of tobacco and nicotine addiction. The programme was organized in alignment with the WHO theme, “Unmasking the Appeal: Exposing Industry Tactics on Tobacco and Nicotine Products,” focusing on how tobacco industries target and influence young people. Dr. G. Govindaraj Vardhanan, Surgical Oncologist and Managing Director of Harshamitra Cancer and Multispeciality Hospital, delivered a powerful session on “Tobacco: A Burden on Families and Society.” The interactive talk created strong awareness among students about the health, emotional, and social impact of tobacco use. Through such initiatives, Harshamitra continues its commitment towards cancer prevention, youth awareness, and building a healthier tobacco-free society.
