World No Tobacco Day 2026 – “UNMASKING THE APPEAL”
Harshamitra Cancer Hospital has been actively conducting tobacco awareness initiatives since 2011 for the welfare of the community. Following the annual theme announced by the World Health Organization (WHO), the hospital has continuously worked towards creating awareness among the public, especially among youth, about the harmful effects of tobacco usage.
This year, based on the WHO World No Tobacco Day theme for 2026 – “Unmasking the Appeal”, Harshamitra Hospital proudly presents a unique awareness initiative through creativity and social engagement:

Important Information for Participants
Reel duration: Maximum 2 minutes
Submission dates:
• Last date: 20th May
• Late submissions accepted till: 25th May
Selection Process
Stage 1 – External Jury Selection
• The Top 50 reels will be reviewed by an expert jury panel
• Top 50 finalists will be selected
From these 50 reels, a three member judge panel consisting of:
- One Visual Communications Expert
- One Social Media Expert
- One Medical Expert
will select Top 10 reels
All these 10 reels will be displayed on LED screen on the day of the award function and the prize winners will be selected by Cinema Director Thiru. Prabhu Solomon
Awards & Recognition
First Prize – Rs 25,000
Second Prize – Rs 5,000
Third Prize – Rs 3,000
• Remaining next 7 finalists will receive consolation cash awards worth Rs 1000 each
• Remaining 40 finalists will receive Excellence Award with Certificate
• Certificates will be provided to all participants
(directly / courier / e-certificate based on availability)

Evaluation Criteria for Reels
Total Marks: 50
Each criterion carries 5 marks
- On time submission
- Content should be related to WHO 2026 Theme – Unmasking the Appeal / Accuracy
- Message / What emotion it triggers
- Creativity
- Audience Captivity
- Time duration – Less than 2 minutes
- Visual Quality – Optimal use of graphics
- Call to action – Does it make sense to quit or create awareness
- Sensitivity / Ethics
- Originality of the concept
Important Notes
- Judge’s decision will be final
- No disputes will be entertained
Top 50 Result will be announced on: May 28
Final Results will be announced on: May 31st by the Chief Guest
All participants are invited to attend the award function at Harshamitra Hospital, Nagamangalam, Trichy
Note: Only the Top 10 reels will be displayed on stage during the award function. Other reels may be displayed subject to time availability.
