As part of Pink October 2026 – Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Information Technology Association, Department of Information Technology (Women), Jamal Mohamed College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli, organised an awareness programme titled “Empowering Women Through Health Awareness.”
Dr. P. Sasipriya Govindaraj, Consultant Radiation Oncologist and Executive Director, Harshamitra Cancer and Multispeciality Hospital, took part as the Resource Person and delivered a special session on breast cancer and breast health.
She spoke about the importance of early detection, being aware of changes in breast health, and going for timely screening. She encouraged women to take their health seriously and consult a doctor whenever they notice anything unusual.
Dr. Sasipriya also introduced the Pink October special screening package at Harshamitra Cancer and Multispeciality Hospital, which offers three breast screening tests, Mammogram, Thermogram, and Sonogram, for ₹999 throughout October.
Through Pink October 2026, Harshamitra Cancer and Multispeciality Hospital continues to encourage women to prioritise their breast health and take proactive steps towards early detection.
